Oxybenzone is able to absorb harmful UVA and UVB rays. This prevents UV from reaching the skin cells, reducing the risk of skin damage. Octyl methoxycinnamate (OMC) is an active sunscreen ingredient which is used to absorb UV-B rays from the sun, protecting the skin from damage. It is also used to reduce the appearance of scars.
